27 Jan Business Communication: How Did Sony Miss The Digital Revolution?
Sony is the one who first brought music to our ears. So, did they miss the digital revolution? I’ll give you a hint: poor business communication.
They owned…
…the rights to the music
…the rights to the videos
…they had the retail presence
…they had a positive brand reputation
…they had loyal customers
…they even had the technology expertise
So, what happened?
Lack of Business Communication
You might be surprised to know that it all came down to one seemingly simple concept.
=> They didn’t talk to each other. Sony was lacking the business communication needed to get out in front of their competition.
Everyone was so good in their silos that they missed out on the greatest opportunity of
our time.
In this video, I share this great story.
Now your industry and company might not be in such an extreme circumstance, but there is certainly a lesson in this story for us as leaders.
Failing to communicate in your organization could cause missed opportunities.
At the end of this video, I ask you 2 powerful questions to get you reflecting on what you might do differently.
If you’re looking for a way to improve business communications in your organization, I help teams and people learn to break through barriers and take responsibility with my Stepping Up program.
